Working with paintings—Salvador Dali's art
This art is very special, as many things can be perceived from it. Students can read about Salvador Dali's work at:
Getting ready
We are going to design the writing activity by using a Workshop. First of all, students are going to read the biography of Salvador Dali. As it is very extensive, they are going to glance through it. After glancing through the biography, they will take a virtual tour of MoMA. We will link the website directly to Dali's painting. We enter the course and select the Weekly outline section in which we want to add the activity. Let's Moodle it!
How to do it...
You are going to design this activity in a Workshop. Click on Add an activity and select Workshop. Afterwards, you will follow these the steps:
- Complete the Submission Title block by writing the title of the activity.
- Complete the Description block. You will link the websites as shown in the following screenshot:
- In both cases, select New window in Target, as shown in the following screenshot:
- There are many items that you can complete according to the way you design the activity. You are going to do it as shown in the next screenshot:
- Make sure that you check the dates of submissions and assessments.
- Click on Save changes.
How it works...
Now we have to edit assessment elements. In this case, we have chosen three elements, namely, Grammar, Spelling, and Composition (sentences, paragraphs, and so on). We will complete the chart as shown in the next screenshot:

After completing the chart as shown in the previous screenshot, click on Save changes. Then click on Continue. You can submit an example Assignment so that your students have a sample of writing. Another possibility is that you submit the introduction or some questions to guide their writing.
