User journeys

A user journey shows how the user completes a particular task. We will describe all the steps the user takes inside and outside of our platform, and we will also add the thoughts and feelings that the user has at each moment:

User journey example

A user journey can be created using different techniques, and each of them can work better for some projects than others. While some designers prefer to create storyboards, others may use narratives, but any other method may be useful if it creates a clear picture about the process the user takes to accomplish the task at hand.

For example, some users can be willing to buy on Amazon because their shoes are worn away. This user will open Amazon in order to find some nice shoes, and he will try to find them at the best price. As this user wants to buy a great product, reading good comments will give the user confidence about the purchase; he will review all the available information for each of the shoes the system offers and finally, if everything goes well, he will decide to buy a pair of shoes. This person will use a credit card to pay for the product and will review his email to find all the information about the purchase.
